I personally lost a son to heroin addiction who left a girl friend and daughter to abide afterwards, More needs to be done in the fight against heroin and meth which are addictive at first use. I could go on about what a great person my son was; but, the fact that he was a son, a soon to be husband and a father of a child should speak for itself. We need to provide more help for those in need; higher crackdowns on the importation of these drugs and education to those who may consider using.

I think it would be amazing to have a rehab in laporte with this epidmic we have .......i was once in trouble with drugs but i found the help i needed in Illinois but for some they can not make it that far and need something close to home with out being turned away reasons unknown ....please open this up their would be no waste of money or tax dollors here

This is a great idea and absolutely needed.some of these people just need rhe right kind of help instead of thinking just putting everyone in jail is fixing the prob cause its obviously not.this could honestly save a lot of lives..hope to see it happen and help the community.

A rehab center would be a great asset for LaPorte. One of my favorite sayings - your either part of the problem or part of the solution.

I have always wanted to have an inpatient rehab center. Funding always stopped my dream. Now disabled. We as a community need this bad. How many more must loose a loved one to addiction while we as a community do nothing.

LP County needs as many facilities & social workers as possible to provide inpatient/outpatient substance abuse treatment.

This would be a two-fold win if the historic County Home is saved and repurposed for a rehab center to fight the drug epidemic that is plaguing LaPorte.
