I think this is a much needed thing...we've needed something like this for so long... Laporte county is so good at just kicking addicts up n offering no help whatsoever...locking someone up doesn't stop the cycle an addict needs to learn how to deal with their demons n continue life W/o drugs.....

This county has a very big need for a rehabilitation center for drug abuse. The county jail is a revolving door for the drug abusers here because they have no help or resources to help them get clean so once released they get out and start all over again. This county needs to wake up and do something about getting rid of the drugs and start helping the addicted get help. LaPorte county stop turning your back and step up to the plate. Get rid of the drugs and help those that need help.

The county home is where my husband used to be. It is a great and professional place. Please keep it going and get that drug facility running

The drug problem in LaPorte county is bad and something needs to be done. This facility would help people to get a chance to overcome addiction.

I agree. I am 22mo sober and I've done everything around here and basically in northwest indiana. I had to do a long term intensive inpatient treatment program to get me to where I am now. congratulations on your progress.

I absolutely think this is extremely good for Laporte Co. As an addict who is now in recovery, I might have taken another step to getting clean sooner if more options were available closer to home. I've done the classes and drug programs at swanson center, the methadone clinics in gary, rehabs in Merrillville and south bend but they were all short term or only an hour here or there. I think this needs to be a long term intensive inpatient rehab. I did one that was ten months long for 5+hr/day and that is when everything really began sinking in. Nobody says, when I grow up I want to become a drug addict or alcoholic and hurt everyone in my life who cares about me. ..that's insane. there are addicts every where, could be someone closer to you and you don't even know it. those suffering from the disease of addiction need positive reinforcement and encouragement, not unwanted judgement or downgrading...they get enough of that from their selves already.
