Jerry Kupchynsky was the long-time director of music education for the East Brunswick School District. In his years there, Kupchynsky built the district's music program from the ground up, gaining national recognition for it, and firmly establishing East Brunswick's reputation as a community that cares for the arts.

Additionally, Kupchynsky was a master teacher who inspired students to believe in themselves and achieve great things. Many of his former students have gone on to achieve success in music and other fields. And many of them owe their success to the lessons they learned in teamwork and discipline taught by Kupchynsky.

Therefore, as the East Brunswick Performing Arts Center represents the ultimate fulfillment of Kupchynsky's commitment to the arts in East Brunswick, and is located in a school where his children and many of his students attended, we ask the Board of Education to rename the facility in Kupchynsky's honor as soon as possible.
