This petition is to let the Kennesaw State University's Student Government Organization know that they do not speak for the entire student body when they say KSU students do not wish to exercise their Second Amendment rights on campus.
Hitting 250 signatures proves that a lot of us feel ignored by the current student government narrative. My own sense of security on campus depends on this, so seeing this many people join me is deeply validating.

I have been reading through the inbox and the personal stories about why self-defense feels like a necessity on our campus are truly eye-opening. We are working on getting a formal meeting with the student government to present these perspectives directly to them.

Many campuses believe allowing guns on their grounds is unsafe. However, they do not think about the many law-abiding citizens who carry. The Organization only thinks that if they allow guns on campus that everyone is going to have one and violent crime is going to sky rocket. I believe the CCW licensed students of KSU feel unsafe without protection especially considering KSU has many adult learners, veterans, and faculty members. I have high hopes for college campuses nationwide to open their eyes and see that the more gun-friendly places are the safest. Besides, what's stopping a mass shooter from coming to our campus? He/she will not stop just because the campus is a no-carry zone.

CCW holders are the most law abiding people out there anyway. Stop punishing us.

Its about time we started demanding our rights back on campus. tired of feeling helpless just because of some school policy that only hurts the good guys.

Finally someone said it. I walk to my car late at night and I want to be able to protect myself. KSU needs to get with the program.

Criminals dont obey the rules anyway so what is the point of a gun free zone? It just makes us sitting ducks.
