Mayor Kane was out of line in his original and follow up remarks. He is creating a hostile work and living environment for Health Department Board members. He should apologize and resign as Mayor.

Seriously. Our health and our community's health depends on the advice of professionals and experts whose mission it is to protect us. Politics should not enter in to this discussion. I support the KCBH and thank them for their dedication.

As a nurse practitioner and citizen, I believe boards of health should be independent of any political influence. They serve only to protect the public, not be swayed by political motives or agendas.
