Save lives and support the Board of Health

We need healthcare providers making decisions about CoVid-19 based on scientific evidence. Any other organization may hurt more than help the economy.

I absolutely support the Knox County Board of Health and SCIENCE!

I completely support the Knox County Board of Health and the Knox County Health Department, and I trust their expertise in epidemiology /infectious diseases and public health. This is a health issue not a political issue. They have kept us safe for years.

Coming from a Knox Co. voter, politicians making my health care decisions is NOT a good idea.

I support the work of the board and do not see the need for any changes. I appreciate their work to keep our community healthy and safe.

I support the Knox County Board of Health and the work they have done to keep us safe.

They r knowledgeable & we best follow that science. Mayor Jacobs is not a science major.

I am so disappointed in this Mayor. His actions are unacceptable. While there may be citizens that agree with him that mask orders are unconstitutional. We can discuss that. But the actions of our mayor are, for definitely undemocratic.

Overwhelmingly believe that the Board of Health is to be utilized to guide us in unknown territory.

The Board of Health is doing excellent work. They are experts in medicine and public heath. The protective measures they have enacted have been helpful and are absolutely necessary for the future. The measures have been proven to work in other cities/states and are based on recommendations from other experts. The measures save lives and the community/economy. The good of all people, and most importantly their health, should not be sacrificed for the special interests of a few. The rest of the community/economy should not be sacrificed for the sake of keeping a restaurant or bar open for a few additional hours. Wearing a mask and avoiding gathering in groups of 25 people may not be what a few people want, but it doesn’t infringe their rights. The right of everyone else to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness is infringed when people don’t wear masks and gather in crowds, including at restaurants and bars. Frivolous litigation against any of the measures can be defended victoriously; federal judges have already upheld the constitutionality of such protective measures. Elected politicians should not be tasked with public health decisions or power; the experts on the Board of Health should perform those duties. The power to enact and enforce protective measures should continue to reside with the Knox County Board of Health and their partners at the Knox County Health Department.

As a Knox County citizen, I fully support the Knox County Board of Health and appreciate their work to protect the health and well being of Knox County citizens.

I support the Board of Health in their fight to protect Knoxville from the highly contagious and often fatal Covid pandemic.

Thank you for your volunteer service that is about public health and not politics.

We need professionals to guide us through the pandemic not politicians.

Mayor Jacobs should resign for actively engaging in disinformation in the middle of a pandemic that is manageable if we adapt and monitor. The longer leaders fight about facts, the less competitive and economically viable the US becomes at local, state, and national levels.
