Covid is not a political decision. This is a health situation. The health dept. Has proven competence in this area, not so for the mayor.

Of all the times to undermine the crucial work of the Board of Health, this has got to be the worst! Please, we need cooperation and good science. Thank you to the health experts who have been helping to get us through this crisis in the best possible shape. Stay strong.

The comments and actions of the elected GOP officials in this county are not only a gross incompetence but a clear detriment to the citizens of Knox County. As a resident, I am absolutely APPALLED that politics are taking the lead over science, accountability, and medical professionals. This is not just a new road or zoning issue, this is about the LIVES of all of our county. And THAT should be more important than any political statement and agenda these elected officials may have.

The BOH masks mandates allow me to feel a little safer to shop for groceries and pick up take out food or even visit the doctor’s office. I’m high risk as is my husband, and I appreciate the efforts this board is putting forth to keep those who are vulnerable safe.

Please allow the health board do it’s job. They are the professionals in this mater. I too own a business that has been impacted from Covid and I would like to get back to work sooner than later. If the board can set mandates we will get through this sooner.

Health Professionals are the only qualified people to keep us safe from Covid-19. It is not to be decided without regard to financial impacts, but at it’s heart, it is not a financial issue.

I support the Knox County BOH. I want health professionals gudiing us safely through this pandemic, not politicians.
