Unacceptable. Despicable. Immoral. Disgusting. If I overheard such vile words uttered from a store employee, I would march to customer service and file a complaint before leaving the premises without purchasing anything at all! (And, of I had already purchased anything, I would return it right then and there for a refund.)

I have a daughter with special needs, I would hope to never hear this kind of language used to describe her or her disabilities.

As a mother with a daughter with special needs,I know how this feels. More people need to realize they are human too, and have feelings and emotions just like any of us. In our house, the "r" word is just as bad as the "f" word. I hope this petition helps to spread the word of acceptance and love❤️

I am the parent that was purchasing the swimming pool for my children. The employee has absolutely no remourse. When I asked her to repeat her self... She has no problems repeating those awful words that keep drilling my head. I look at my special needs son and it just crushes me to think someone would refer to him in that way. I am disgusted. This needs to END!

I ride those buses and I'm appalled that in this day and age someone would refer to them as a retard bus.

As a auntie of special needs children here in Whatcom County I agree that immediate action needs to be taken. The employees actions should not be tolerated at all!

This is such a disgrace for Kmart. What an unbelievable rude and disrespectful person! Will not be shopping in Kmart until something is done besides a "talking to"...as a business owner myself..my employee would have been fired on the spot no questions asked.

Understanding that I know this person. It gives Alysha Chavez no right at all to say this to a mother who's child is special needs. Things need to take immediate effect.

As someone who has worked with children who have autism, can I just say that these children are among the brightest, bubbliest and most beautiful people I've ever been blessed enough to meet. I consider it a privilege to have worked alongside these children and will NEVER accept use of the 'R' word in reference to ANYONE! How about a little sensitivity and compassion? These gorgeous children do not chose to be born on the autism spectrum and frankly, they can stand to teach this narrow minded employee a thing or two.

She should keep her ignorant remarks to herself. She needs to be let go and hopefully, will learn a lesson.
