The Klassen case, malicious prosecution

Making Victims out of the Saskatchewan people: The Saskatchewan people are now being asked to back a prosecutor who was found guilty of malicious prosecution. You are being asked to do so because our Justice Minister Frank Quennell believes that he did nothing wrong when he prosecuted 16 innocent people for crimes this public prosecutor knew they did not commit. The Saskatchewan public was outraged when the \"Scandal of the Century\" was revealed, they called for the Saskatchewan NDP to admit their wrong, pay compensation, apologize and stop all appeals so as to no longer victimize the Klassen\'s. The NDP would not listen, instead they apologized to the Plaintiffs, paid them some compensation, however held back in abeyance some money pending the appeal to the Court of Appeal. That appeal has now been heard and decided on. The prosecutor that this government was so quick to back was once again found guilty of malicious prosecution, not just by one judge but now by a total of three judges. The appeal to the Saskatchewan Court of Appeal has already cost the taxpayers a whopping 1/2 million dollars, an appeal to the Supreme Court will cost at least three times that amount. How much more can the taxpayers expect to be asked to spend defending a malicious prosecutor This is truly the \"Scandal of the Century\" Although it is anyone\'s right by law, to go to the Supreme Court of Canada, it should not be their right to further victimize and damage this family by witholding compensation that they are clearly entitled too. If you are opposed to the NDP Government backing the appeal of a prosecutor who has been found by three judges to have maliciously prosecuted 16 innocent people, while holding in abeyance the remaining compensation to the victims of this prosecution, please sign below and pass this petition on.
