I hope the Kirkleess labour council needs to release .how hard is for family to raise that sort of money to give burial to their love ones . Family's are already faceing difficulties . Level of income has dropped . If believe the Cabinet needs to be much more relastic about the fees . Their is no justification for the big increase . They need to take account of poverty and affordability. And the extra strain on family's . I have the labour lead council and local Cllr's will a poise the increase .

These prices reflect very little thought and consideration.

I am to say the least very disappointed at the unpropriate actions of Kirklees Council and their protocol of how and when they decide to notify and uphold any potential meetings. Unfortunately 7 days notice does not justify such a delicate topic, especially with a an increase of nearly 75%! At a time of an untimely death this period is of mourning and building communities is more important than increased fat pay checks, let alone asserting more financial pressure on the loved ones left behind. In my opinion the meeting should be adjourned and the cost of other Local Council Burial Fees adjoining Kirklees area should be taken into consideration before any conclusion in a fit and proper manner coinciding with the delicacy of the topic. I am aware the cost of land may have increased commercially, but does not justify such an inappropriate increase. Regards Salim Shahid

This is disgraceful. Families go through an immensely difficult time when a loved one is lost. Increasing costs will only put more families into debt in an economy that has already made it difficult for those who live on the breadline.

Dont rob the poor

I think it's outrageous that prices are increasing so much to bury our deceased.

This seems a bad decision on behalf of KMC. People in a bereavement situation need to be left to bereave, not have the added burden of thinking about even more costs. Their mental state will be severely interrupted. At a time when the country as a whole is thinking of helping people's mental health this seems like a kick in the teeth. Yet again people have to suffer as a result of politicians decisions. Is this a democratic process.
