Kirkland City Council needs to stick to the agreed upon 20 year plan

Monday through Friday every day there are 50 to 90 cars backed up at the 132nd and 85th Crossroads stop light currently. And you want to increase the density of construction?

Stick to the plan please!

Adding this much density to a already overtaxed intersection is not the right approach. Reduce the size of this project by sticking to the zoning rules without all the variances.

The corner of 85th and 132nd cannot accommodate today's traffic. Adding a high density apartment building here is a joke!

Please do not allow this many units right there. Traffic is already a mess due to the church, all the other developments, and people using 132nd instead of freeway going north in evenings! Thanks

Save the quality of our community. Growth is one thing but this excelerated density is NOT in anyone's best interest. Stay with sustainable plans - not more congestion and loss of quality of life.

STICK WITH THE PLAN that was created before. Additional tax revenues are not worth destroying whole neighborhoods!

Stay the course. Listen to your constituents, they rely on you to do you job well. Keep,the 20 year plan in place.

We need to keep the quality of life in this area. Adding too many people and too much traffic will make the area deteriorate in value and in livability.

I oppose modifying the 20-year comprehensive plan of 8,361 housing units. Traffic congestion is expected, but if we allow worse. Safety issues arise and quality of life is negatively impacted. We say NO to this irresponsible planning of growth in our city.

I have lived in Kirkland since 1986 and sadly, it has lost its appeal.

I support this petition. Stick with the plan that was agreed upon. Alternative 2.

Kirkland used to be a lovely small town with local appeal. I am so disappointed and frustrated with the developer-friendly council, planning department and design review committee that disregards the concern of long time residents. Information is poorly communicated to impacted residents. Stick with the current growth plan. Three to six story mixed use building are out of place in our residential neighborhoods. Adding 1000+ units of unaffordable housing critically impacts the local schools, traffic, mature trees and infrastructure of the heart and soul of our community.

It makes no sense to have plans, or citizen engagement if you ignore both. Please trust in the process as you would ask us to do. The process was followed, the growth plans were agreed to and approved. How can you justify any deviation?

I oppose the Bridal Trails housing development and the 85th Street corridor development with tall, large apartment complexes .Traffic is very congested now.

I am both a resident and landlord in Kirkland. I am constantly amazed by the enormous homes being built on what appear to be small lots, often two to a lot. There are zoning guides for areas of Kirkland which seem to be easily changed with a variency request?? When zip went to the city planning department, I was quoted the old zoning code. Time to stick to the plan and the regulations, not constantly find wiggle room. Kirkland has charm, ambiance, glorious parks and a wonderful downtown. It truly is time to consider what all of the over building might do to destroy a special place to live!
