Agree it will be highly deleterious to neighborhood. Traffic impossible now in that area 5 hours of the day.

85th and 132nd proposal is not good for the citizens of Kirkland. There is already too much congestion there presently.

I can't BELIEVE this!!! They also plan to build at 85th & 120th--750 units! We really need a groundswell to change or stop this. Thank you for organizing!!

There is no way our roads can handle the growth planned along 85th and 132nd (Oh! And the bottlenecks on 124th into Totem Lake resulting from the new development...)
25mph residential roads between 124th and 132nd already suffer speeding commuters trying to Waze their way to work at the expense of safety and livability. To accomplish what? That all important ten? five? sometimes a scant minute or two earlier arrival?
Adding apartments at NE85th and 132nd to this already failing scenario will be a disaster, with literally no ability for a fix. Traffic already backs up easily a mile waiting for the 132nd stop lights at 85th to cycle during very broad commute hours. The current congestion means a wait through three or four lengthy traffic light cycles simply to get off of 132nd. It is so bad, a traffic cop is on duty, and stoplights are off, to manage the Church traffic on Sundays... will we have to do the same thing for each weekday morning and afternoon commute?
There are ZERO roadside parking spots on either 132nd or 85th in any direction. Nor does there appear to be enough parking allotted to the proposed commercial - apartment development. Where will the overflow end up? On our residential streets in a neighborhood thick with children walking to school at the height of the morning commute. The dish that this recipe for disaster serves up will be tragic.

I live in Finn Hill / Juanita Crest neneighborhood and very disappointed with Kirklands handling of streets and sidewalks. Fix infrastructure that you inherited from Unincorporated King ounty first.

Bridle Trails does not need this nor want this. We like it as it is. Traffic is too dense as it is. There is nothing positive and packing in more people.

Stick to the 20 year plan. A lot of people put a lot of time, thought, and effort to make a good plan for the future and you should respect that. Growth at the present pace is killing Kirkland's character and livability, and that's not what the plan allows. Twenty years is what was agreed to by the people of Kirkland, and you should be serving their interests first, not developers.

Enough, all you see is $$$$.Seems to me you should have surplus property tax money with the addition of the already numerous homes on properties previously occupied by single homes and now contain up to eight and all Million Dollar homes. I can't get out of my subdivision now and when I do I have to wait thru the back up at 132 Ave. & 85th. Have you ever seen a Short Plat that you didn't approve?
Also a few years ago we approved a levy for street repair and they are still a mess. You want an increase of .1% in the sales tax - I have never observed a Police Car drive thru our sub division and see very few during my Kirkland travel All you know is "RAISE TAXES.". property values have increased tremendously but the Mill Levy is never adjusted. These Condo's and Apts. are ridiculous. Kirkland as we knew it and what we want will never be the same.

Agree. Development will happen but it needs to be well thought out with traffic and density considerations in mind.

Lack of planning of growth had negatively impacted quality of life in the city of Kirkland. Let's stick to the plan and make sure that growth is directed into the areas where infrastructure supports it.

The city of Kirkland's panic over growth is leading to poor planning. We don't need huge apartment complexes right next to houses or zoning codes that ignore the comprehensive plan. We need measured, calm, rational plans so that Kirkland doesn't become a mess of jarring transitions between houses and apartments and riddled with clogged intersections.

When the "missing middle" housing is approved they might be able to build even closer than the current 5 ft. This concern needs to be addressed.

Keep Kirkland suburban in our neighborhood centers! The urban centers of Totem Lake and downtown should have the 5 story buildings.
