Currently known as JD Dance Club a successful dance school that has been in business for 30 years providing kids and adults in the community a safe, fun place to learn various styles of dance and fitness. Promoting a healthy lifestyle through dance and helping mental health along the way encouraging young and old to socialise and take part in physical activity and help keep children and teenagers off the streets causing trouble by giving them a focus and something to work towards.
Unfortunately the current owner of the studio no longer wishes to run the business and wants to persue other life dreams and after 30 years of service we fully support her. This means the current location will close as she is selling the premesis.
However David has taught at the studio since he was 16 and for the last 20 years continued to work with all the dancers from the studio who fully support his dream to open in a new location under the new name Kirby Dance Studio. All dancers have expressed their wish to move to a new location as dance is now an important part of their life, fitness and social interactions. However they wish to remain local to the current location as travelling much further may be difficult for those that walk to attend.
Moving to the new location on Primrose Street in Rochdale approx half a mile from the current studio would be a boost to the community and allow our 150+ dancers a chance to continue to dance with their friends. After almost 2 years of isolating and lockdowns the classes we offer and the groups we have need us to remain a part of the community, as without us this last 2 years they have struggled and it would not be fair for them to have this taken away from them.
Support us and sign the petition to show how much of a positive impact this dance studio can have in the local community and all around Rochdale.

BIG NEWS IS BREWING BEHIND THE SCENES REGARDING THE MOVE TO PRIMROSE STREET!! THE ENERGY FROM ALL OUR DANCERS IS ABSOLUTELY ELECTRIC AS WE WORK TO KEEP OUR COMMUNITY TOGETHER!!

THIS MOMENTUM IS ABSOLUTELY UNREAL!! I AM TOTALLY BLOWN AWAY BY HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE PUSHING TO KEEP THE STUDIO ALIVE AND I FEEL SO ENERGIZED BY THIS OUTPOURING OF PASSION!!

This school must go in order to offer dance activities for children across the borough to promote both health & fitness and support mental health which is rife amongst the young people of today!
David has taught dance to my son and all the children enjoy his classes. There needs to be more for children in Rochdale not just pound shops and take aways.
My son has attended David’s dance lessons for many years. He has many friends and has gained so much confidence. Without David, the dance school and his friends he would be lost. It’s great, fun exercise for the kids - they are all a great bunch and deserve to be afforded the opportunity to continue with their dancing.
David lives and breathes dance, always has and hes helped so many kids and parents alike to find a passion of their own. A Social hub is worth its weight in gold in a town like Rochdale.
David is a fantastic dance teacher and the new studio will be brilliant for the children to carry on dancing , and meeting friends which I feel is great for their confidence and development. I can’t wait for my son to be able to attend when he is older. The adult classes have also been fantastic.

Think it’s a great idea for the premises that are in a more industrial area. Therefore a dance studio is not going to have an adverse affect the neighbourhood
