Suspension is not enough of a consequence for such a heinous act. Suspension from sports teams and having to publicly apologize to the student he assaulted without provocation would be a decent start.

No matter what your political beliefs are, it’s unacceptable and terrible to have someone with such hatred for a person who was doing nothing wrong and minding their business representing the team or to even be a part of it.
