Kentucky Cottage Food Law

I support the Cottage Food Bill giving the right to citizens to bake goods and sell them from their homes. Without this law, I am wondering what will happen to the non-profit organizations and fund-raising events I see selling baked goods across the state of Kentucky. Several famous baked products started their successful businesses in their homes. Kentucky needs to allow this opportunity to its own citizens. Frankly, I am surprised that this law isn't already in effect.

I signed because our favorite cake decorator is a state at home mom and is now being forced to stop doing what she loves because she doesnt have two kitchens! She is awesome and deserves to use her talent however she can!

Supporting local small businesses will keep Kentucky's economy strong! Home kitchens are healthier than heavily processed and over-handled big box operations!

This would help stay at home Moms and people out of work to help support their families.

I sign this petition giving people the right to bake cakes, cookies or pies in their home kitchen.

This law is critical to small business success. There are so many rules, regulations and fees, it is not only daunting but almost impossible to be successful. Add to this the requirement to cook something as simple as a cookie, or in my case a popsicle, in a commercial kitchen sucks the life right out of you. There are almost no commercial kitchens for rent in Lexington. Even outside of Lexington the cost is 18.00 to 25.00 per hour. I can't possible make a profit. I have a fabulous product and can't afford to make it! Please pass this law!!!

I make gourmet popsicles, non of the ingredients are hazardous but I am required to rent a commercial kitchen which makes a profit almost impossible. We need this law!

I use this business as my income I been at a local farmers market for several years I feel this will keep the little man in business

This is an amazing bill and should be formulated into law! It will help the economy, especially in areas of KY in economic hardship....Fulton County, Hickman County, Carlisle County

I think is this is awesome. I do think that if this law is to be considered some restrictions should apply. Like they should have to be Sever Safe Certified or equivalent.
