KEEP WOOD A TWO WAY STREET

Wood street should remain a 2 way street!

KEEP WOOD Only TWO WAY STREET !!!

I live on Wood and this would be incredibly disruptive for me.

I’m a cyclist and I do not support this idea.

There are several school affected by this including my child's school. Has anyone bothered to considered school safety. Not to mention the hospitals in the neighborhood and traffic patterns.

3 one way streets in a row is ridiculous. This would require me to drive 3-4 blocks out of my way every single morning.

Wood Street is my primary route into and out of my part of the neighborhood to go to work and basically anywhere if I am driving my car. I live on Wicker Park between Wood and Wolcott, 1/2 block north of Ellen, the proposed end. To lose this street going south would be the loss of a major thoroughfare for motorists. Wood Street changing to a one way north will only benefit bicyclist. If you really wanted to created a safe place for bikes, the whole city would need to be redone and modeled off of Amsterdam. Imagine... bicycle lanes on the sidewalks for bicycles, and sidewalks for just walkers. Plus, TRAFFIC lights for bikes. I couldn't tell you how many times I've almost hit a bicyclist who decided to blow through a red light at Division and Wood only for me to slam on my brakes, lay on my horn and offer some choice words.

Keep it two way!

Keep Wood Street accessible in both directions! We need a south directional street that has a controlled intersection with a light, too.... not just a 4 way stop at Wolcott and Division. Wolcott and Division makes more sense to create a one way north lane anyways.

This change would greatly affect the pick up and drop off for children at Talcott. Please do not change Wood to a 1 way street.

I’m all for giving more public space over to public transportation and bicycle traffic, but this is a terrible idea in my opinion.

Southbound wood has been a primary route of transportation for me to access living on Hermitage. No other nearby street has a street light and connections in the neighborhood when it is especially difficult during rush hour and school exit times.

I use Wood St regularly as both a pedestrian and driver. This is an important two-way side street corridor for cars, pedestrians, and cyclists. Please keep it as such.

NO ON THE ONE WAY STREET

Wolcott or Paulina would make excellent alternatives given that they are already wide one way streets. That gives the ability to add the bike lane without altering the flow of traffic.
