I actually live on Wood Street. This is a dumb idea with no robust communication with the community.

There’s two other one way streets there going in the same direction no reason to do this it’s a waste of time and money !!!!

We had clue that this work was approved or even being considered. We follow the Alderman's twitter account and did not see ANY mention of this project. A search also did not find any tweets about the project. Better communication is definitely needed from the Alderman.

Don't do this.

Looks like just another tick in the box for me to move to a friendlier city/out of state (and I’m extremely liberal) . Getting so close for me to me get out of here. And I love chicago, but this is wrong. LaSpata will not get my vote next time.

There are so many problems in our neighborhood. The fact that this is even up for discussion shows how pathetic our leadership is. Let's make it easier for the criminals to terrorize the citizen's.

wood street is used by us everyday to go back and forth to take my son to school northward. southward we use wood to go to work. we find using the main streets are too congested during peak rush hour traffic. doing this project would be disastrous in an already increasing congested area.

I lived at Augusta and Wood for 18years and helped get the overhead stoplight there starting with a petition when I lived there. I still drive Wood all the time to get to work. This is bad for a number of reasons and harms thoae that live there. Terrible idea all around

Strongly oppose this proposal. The 1st ward alderman and his staff fail to communicate effectively with the ward community. 67 votes out of 55,000 residents is .1% of the ward. This does not make for a valid, reliable representative sample to put forward this proposal. This kind of a request made through a "participatory" budget process could be an step to initiate a wider community discussion across the ward. Community meetings across the ward could have been organized by the 1st ward office and the many 1st ward community organizations. The community organization leaders were unaware and uninformed just like the 54,933 residents who did not request this.

This proposal lacks common sense. Is not represented of the community’s interests. Keep Wood a 2 way street

Traffic is too tough already. This would be horrible peris the horrible. What they did in Milwaukee Avenue is the Milwaukee Avenue between Fullerton and Armitage has killed most businesses there. I'm all for being pedestrian friendly but this is ridiculous.

This decision affects those who live near Wood but had no voice because we live in the 2nd ward and we’re not aware of it until a decision was made. Since it affects us equally, we should have a say in what happens on Wokd.

Drivers are soooo oppressed in Chicago and I won't stand for it. I wanna drive where I want, as fast as I want, and park anywhere I want. Is that too much to ask? Where are my rights???

One way on Wood Street is a terrible idea.

Wood needs to stay a 2-way street.

This is the dumbest way to spend funds in our neighborhood, when there are better options to improve traffic flow and safety of our streets.

Too many one-ways already in the neighborhood. The traffic in both directions in this neighborhood is more important than accommodating the 1.8% of cyclists in the city.
