KEEP WOOD A TWO WAY STREET

I am a resident on the 1700 block of Crystal. Wood is out only outlet to get south from our block and changing it to one way north would result in more dangerous traffic on Mooreman which would be our only other exit route south and/or east

Extremely important issue!

Another ridiculous way to make more congested automotive traffic. Cars aren’t going away. Look up facts on how many cars are purchased each day.

Get rid of the bus lanes too!

Everyone should have a fair chance to weigh in on this issue! Changing Wood Street to a one way would have collateral damage, that I personally believe, that hasn’t been well thought out!

I do not support this change to Wood St

As a resident of Wood street, making our street a one way would cause great disruption to traffic flow and residential parking.

What is most alarming about this situation was the process. How can these decisions be made by an Alderman and 67 people who voted yes to a survey? Doesn't this kind of thing involve urban planning? Also - a survey with integrity would show both no and yes responses and be widely available to all residents. I think in general people are supportive of bike lanes but this is not the way. A good first start would be repaving Wood Street from UKVillage to Bucktown.

I am an avid cyclist and I still strongly oppose this proposal.

It’s a challenge already to get around, this is not going to help.

This will create unnecessary congestion on adjacent streets, inconvenience the residents who use Wood while bringing no tangible value to the neighborhood. Spend the $300k on fixing potholes.

This idea to convert Wood Street to a one way would severely hamper our ability to safely enter and exit our home, while causing significant logistical issues for emergency response vehicles.

Only reason he’s changing it is to use his bike with less traffic

The process of "voting" was well intended but severely flawed. There are 55,000 people in the ward and less than 1/2 of 1% of the people want this massive change. Please STOP and find out what your ward constituents want.....not just a tiny fraction of us. Thank you.

I am a cyclist and am all in favor of bike lanes. But Wood already is a bike thoroughfare. And this plan would increase traffic on the two one-way streets flanking Wood, Paulina and Wolcott. This is not participatory government or budgeting but only the sham of such.

Wood St, with Speed bumps and MANY stop signs is ALREADY SAFE. The proj is govt overreach.

This should remain the way it is for two way street focus needs to be put in safety of business and residents

We have better options for a solution to the problem. This is a quick and dirty solution that didn’t take the community that would be negatively impacted into consideration.

I am signing because the voting did not provide an option to vote no. This is not democratic voting and due to this there are many unrepresented community members who were disenfranchised by this process.
