KEEP WOOD A TWO WAY STREET

There's no reason to waste a bunch of money to make a perfectly fine street go from two way to one way for ONE BLOCK. Nonsensical and literally will only make things less safe. I bicycle and am all for increased safety for EVERYONE; I can easily take other streets that are one way if I want more space. As is though there's no issues with biking on Wood in either direction!!

This will create impossible congestion on Division and Paulina and will be dangerous for cars and pedestrians on Moorman Street as there is no sidewalk on one side and Moorman is too narrow for two way traffic. Making Wood a one way especially between Division and Crystal will do nothing to increase safety for bikers

All this will do is create more car traffic as people have to drive farther to get where they are going.

This is a huge waste of resources

Keep Wood a two way street! Damen already has the bike lanes and is so incredibly close.

Install speed bumps and or lower the speed limit in this street.

Laspata "required" 85% of residents on an entire block to sign petitions to get ONE speedbump. But he doesn't need or require ANY of the people who actually live or work in the immediate area to agree on changing the entire direction and layout of the street?

It sound like a lot ppl would be effected By this change , and we must always consider the nearest community that these change would effect .

What idiot thought this was the most smart shi* to come up with. SMH and I will bet anything this intelligent doesn't even live in the area.

Why would your residents in the area want to get stuck in more traffic

Just wanted to thank everyone for taking the time to sign the petition and for the informative comments. I have forwarded the petition to CDOT and Gia Biagi as well as the 36th Ward and received responses back from both.

This street has been 2-way since even before Iv’e moved here in 2004. The use of the dual pathways has always proved safe and fast passage through our corridor. If need be to slow the way, add more speed bumps. If more is needed add a speed camera, otherwise I can see no logical reason to make wood st a one way. Either way the people of wood street have always been quiet and respectful towards eachother. There is no need to change the way we operate and live.

Keep Wood a two way street. The future of my business depends on it.

Why change it

It would be an egregious act of self interest from a public servant to acknowledge more citizens dont want something than do and to do it anyway. Political suicide?

Please reverse the decision to avoid great incovenience for those in the neighborhood
