Flathead River Valley. Keep it wild.
In B.C. the Flathead River Valley is far from being protected. The government has taken their first step out of three in protecting this area. But that is not enough! In order to ensure that the Flathead River Valley is protected, the government needs to take action and take the next two steps. The first step they took was a ban on mining, oil, gas, and coal bed methane in the Flathead. A pretty good start. But not good enough. The next two steps they need to take are: 1. Creating a National Park in the lower one-third of B.C.'s Flathead River Valley. (Which has been an idea for over 100 years!) 2. Establishing a wildlife Management Area in the rest of the valley and adjoining habitat. In signing this petition you are agreeing with the idea that the government needs to take the next two steps to protect the Flathead River Valley.
