That British Place has been a wonderful resource for me and my musician friends to gather and hone our craft in an environment that is both high-quality, and affordable. It would be a serious loss for those of us who treasure playing music, as well as for the greater community, as they benefit from our rehearsals in making their evenings out listening to live bands a better experience. Please vote to keep TBP open for all of us who have been patrons for these many years, and would suffer if it is forced to close. Thank you!

That British place is a quality studio. Great people. I believe in them. I have been a musician in the LA Area for over 22 years. I have relied on the produce place for many rehearsals they have always been kind and generous to me. If it's a second chance that they need, that's what they deserve. God bless,

TBP is an institution of the LA music scene, rising to prominence since its launch in early 2008 as the only rehearsal and recording space in Santa Monica. But is more than just a studio, it's a scene and a cultural touch stone. I've rubbed elbows there with young lions of the LA jazz scene, world famous metal bands and other worldly musicians like Les Claypool... TBP attracts this caliber of artist while also serving as the watering hole for countless up and coming acts. I also taught drum lessons at TBP for a number of years and really resonated with the owners passion for education. TBP is truly an asset to the community.

I was their first client... Zoe and Gaz provide a huge service to the community by allowing musicians to practice their trade in a clean safe place... The landlord should not go the way of schools and ban music for up and comers and proffessionals... please dont take the color out of our society, or it will be you who helps the world turn lifeless and grey... they are great tenants, please reconsider... cheers

I understand there is controversy surrounding THAT BRITISH PLACE. Imagined or real, there needs yo be a solution that affords the ability for this business to remain open as it is one of the last remaining bastions for the arts; Specifically, ROCK live music. As I also understand it, the business is unique and has specialized offerings. Therefore, I believe that at all costs THAT BRITISH PLACE needs all the support it can garner, as opposed to malicious and adversarial response from neighbors. Even worse is when the complaints and reasons are completely contrived. Therefore, as a musician staunch supporter of the arts, I implore your reconsideration and further ask for your support in helping keep this business open. Please do the right thing.
Sincerely,
Richard "Teke" Farkas

That British is a West side landmark to the music community. To let them go would be like closing The Santa Monica Pier. I wouldn't be a musician without their endless support. They've done everything possible to build it into a thriving, profitable, legendary business. To shut it down would be not only a mistake, it would be a silencer to anyone who's ever had a dream in the City of Angels.

I am a drummer/percussionist of 20 plus years and have spent many hours rehearsing at That British Place. It provides a much needed service to hundreds of musicians in the Los Angeles/Santa Monica area . The owners Zoe and Gaz are a tremendous asset to the community. Their Knowledge and expertise have helped countless musicians. That British place needs to stay open!!!!

I get it, this muso traffic lowers property values and the tenant is paying an under market rent. Guise the main issue with a smoke and mirror reason to evict.
Interesting case of discrimination, unlawful eviction and I am sure we can do an interesting discovery on this case. Something a judge may consider a worthy arguement.
Sue your landlord.

It never ceases to amaze me...When something works, is good and serves a purpose...They try to kill it....That British Place opened its doors to my artist when we were strapped for funds...no questions...just help and smiles. Top of the line equipment and old world hospitality and charm....They must not be shut out for the sake of greed...! Wado...

I've been going to That British Place since their opening in 2008. The owners have always been courteous and considerate and have provided an overall great service to their clients. So much great music has come out of That British Place. A significant portion of the business and culture of the West Side is centered around creative endeavors. It would be a shame and an insult to the local artistic community as a whole, to see them forced out.
