The PCT who currently run Kings Heath and Lings Brook surgeries have stated that they wont be running either as of 1st October this year. The surgeries didn't see this as a problem as there were other local surgeries close by that were interested in taking them on. However the PCT then decided with no consultation with patients or staff or other mediacal groups that the surgeries would be put out to tender as a pair and not on thier own.
The two surgeries are not linked in anyway and are opposite sides of the town. This means that the local surgeries are no longer interested in taking them over as they don't want to take on a surgery at the other side of town. So this leaves it open to a big business to come in and take us over.
This whole process has been done without the patients and the staff at both surgeries. These are big descisions that will affect us as patients and we have not been consulted. This is wrong.
We have asked the PCT to reconsider and let us be taken over by our neighbouring surgeries, and have asked the health scrutiny committee to look in to it for us on the basis that there was no consultation. We need as many people as possible to protest so that they will listen to us.
Please show your support and add your name to our petition to keep our surgeries seperate!
Thankyou
The PCT is ignoring us and forcing this merger behind closed doors despite knowing it makes no sense for our community. We are taking this straight to the health scrutiny committee because the lack of consultation is a slap in the face to every patient.

The momentum we have built proves the PCT cannot ignore their lack of transparency any longer. They thought they could force this merger behind closed doors but our growing strength shows exactly how wrong they were. This fight is far from over and we will keep pushing until the PCT stops treating our local healthcare like a business commodity.

Ridiculous decision. Just another way to hand everything over to some big company that doesnt care about us at all.

This is just ridiculous. Why are they trying to fix something that isnt broken? Keep them separate, we need local doctors who actually know what they are doing.

Lings Brook has always been great. Dont mess with our local health care just for your own convenience.
