Mr. Holmgren, This is a formal petition to urge you to retain Cleveland Browns head coach Eric Mangini for another season. We the fans who have signed this petition believe in the progress that has been made in coach Mangini's first season. Though the team had a very rough start to the season, much progress has been made. Much controversy surrounded coach Mangini's first six months on the job in Cleveland. Most notably, trading Kellen Winslow and Braylon Edwards, having multiple reports of disrespect by players, and the extent to which his practices may have often gone overboard. The truth is, Eric Mangini was installing a system based of intelligent, tough, and admirable football players. This is something that has not been seen in Cleveland in over 20 years. I would ask you Mr.Holmgren to turn back the calendar 12 or 14 months ago and evaluate the progress that has been made. In 12 short months coach Mangini has flipped this football team on its head and it is now beginning to resemble a team that all the Cleveland Browns fans can be proud of. Tough, hardworking, and edgy football. I understand you were hired to do a job here in Cleveland Mr.Holmgren. I understand you have spent the majority of your career studying and executing different systems other than that used by coach Mangini. However, as you have said yourself, to dismantle this team over and over again will only set you back further off than where you were to begin with.
