A petition to the Stanley Lake MUD Board to allow for the installation of a propane generator by TACHUS to service their control cabinet within Cape Conroe. The purpose of this request is to assure uninterrupted internet access to TACHUS customers on the Cape Conroe Peninsula during times of power interruption.
The affects of power outages, whether caused by extreme weather events, accidents, or for any other reason, are more than an inconvenience for many. They can be a life safety hazard for some.
Recognizing that the internet has becomes one of today's primary access points for information and vital communication, and is a particularly critical resource during times of catastrophe, we, the undersigned, respectfully request that the board approve TACHUS' proposal to install a generator for the health and safety of our community.

I have been hearing from so many of you about how vital this connection is when our neighborhood loses power during storms. I am spending my evenings gathering the technical documentation the board keeps asking for so we can move past their current stall tactics.

Seeing this much momentum from our neighbors confirms that I am not the only one worried about losing connection during a crisis. It feels incredible to see our community come together like this to insist on the safety of our homes.

Thanks Terrence for initiating this. I have a backup generator, but as you know, that doesn’t mean I can power up my modem & connect to the internet unless Tachus also has a backup generator.
Let’s do what needs to be done to provide backup power to the Tachus node during a power outage.
We keep losing connection every time it rains hard. Living on the peninsula makes it impossible to get a signal when the grid goes down. Please help us fix this.
Seems like a no brainer. Just put the generator in already.
THIS IS LONG OVERDUE. Need internet for my job and it cuts out way too much here.
Internet is a must.
Definitely need a generator - work, school, safety, all good reasons to do it!
