A closure will cause congestion & bottlenecks elsewhere.

Whilst I understand the need to cut back on traffic going that way, in the event of a major accident blocking A371, a different route is ESSENTIAL. Travelling a number of miles in the wrong direction to seek an alternative route will not be possible for everyone. It will cause a lot of problems for a lot of people. I know the link road from Parklands to near Morrisons will be open at some point (originally planned for winter 2020!) but if the accident is near the bridge over the M5, this is where it will cause serious issues.

Closing or significantly restricting Wolvershill Road at the motorway bridge would be highly problematic - this must not be done!

The petition accurately identifies the negative impact of the proposal which, in
The interest of local communities, local traffic flow and the natural environment should be revised.

As a resident of west wick, I feel that closing the bridge will creating a divide of the community that is in the parish of banwell. Also as a district nurse, I will spend longer periods of driving to access patient who live on woolvershill road which will have a negative on my time as I will need to reduce the amount of patient I can see due to extra travel time, also increase carbon footprint

I don’t see the sense in closing off the bridge over the M5 for most traffic, it would just make Riverside and Summer Lane rat-runs.
Also, when is the north-south link by Locking Parklands going to open?

Please reconsider permanent closure; this will have a negative impact on the community and force more traffic onto already over saturated routes.

Cuts off an important safe route to worle from Banwell which links two villages. Will change peoples routes and mean country lanes will be much busier and it will be more dangerous for all the lane users. No common sense has been applied to this and the road needs to stay open.

Should be left open for locals as it’s been there for years.

It will lead to more mikes per vehicle thereby adding more to pollution than less.

Absolute folly to close Wolvershill Road.....isolating villages and increasing the queues to from M5 J21

I use this road regularly, when travelling to Wells and Winscombe, and it will just force traffic to use the likes of country lanes like Puxton Lane - which is only wide enough for one car.
