Keep Wolvershill bridge open: A lifeline for our community!

This plan is so disappointing and will cause so many knock-on problems.

Closing the road makes no sense

The long awaited bypass is intended benefit the residents of Banwell s well as those who have to pass through it. Closing the Wolvershill bridge will be of no benefit, and will have a detrimental effect on the local environment and the users of the bypass.

We do not want this road to be closed as it inconvenience a lot of homeowners in this area

A Travisty closing a road that is a lifeline for the local community! Why would you want to put so much pressure on Flowerdown roundabout and ask people to drive 4 times the distance to get to the same places?

I think we need to keep this road open! It seems silly for it to be closed when we all use it on our day to day journeys. Also for local businesses near by would suffer the consequences of this being closed.

It’s vital for people who live in Banwell for ease of movement and to cut the amount of traffic flowing from Weston.

If costing a lot more money to drive and NSC won't us too create more polushon driving miles when it's only 3 miles to marison down wolverine road

Local businesses need this to be kept open

Please keep wolvershill road open, setting up a bypass shouldn’t mean existing routes should be completely made redundant

As a resident of Winscombe, our nearest supermarket is in Weston along with majority of youth, sports and entertainment facilities. Without the Wolvershill Road, travelling into Weston for these essential services will become lengthy and increase emissions from stationary cars in long traffic queues.

We live in central Banwell. This idea is truly ridiculous. It would cut us off as a village from local amenities and easy access to the M5 for work. The traffic congestion would be intolerable if villagers and surrounding villages are forced down one road past Lockibg to exit the village. Airport roundabout would be gridlock at peak times even with improved lanes and signals. Riverside would become a rat run and it’s already crumbling in some parts.

I strongly object to the closure of woolverhill bridge, not only do I have to live with an extra 3000 plus cars on the roads with this development. I'm expected to drive twice as far to my closest supermarket because the developer wants to put mire houses on the land

Essential alternative access to Banwell and Winscombe.

By closing wolvershill Rd you will be putting the congestion onto other rds especially with all the new housing being built. Also making routes longer therefore adding to the pollution from vehicles.

Trying to close this bridge to local traffic shows that there has been no consideration for the surrounding areas and how best for people to access Weston-m5 junction or worle. Will force traffic down small moor lanes as every motorway closure proves!

As Secretary of Banwell Allotment Co-operative Society, I know those of our members who need to cross Wolvershill Bridge to reach the allotments will be horrified that they will have a much longer, inconvenient journey, using more fuel. Surely there must be a better route for cycling and walking.

There is no suitable alternative route nearby, which will result in either longer journeys, impacting the environment or an increase in traffic on narrow lanes in the area
