Ridiculous idea. Cutting off the village for the benefit of a new housing development or two.
Adding the extra cars from 2000 new houses to all the commuters from Banwell and surrounding villages (Sandford/Cheddar/Churchill/Winscombe and then ALL being sent on a road together to get round and out of Banwell to the M5 is madness. There will be tail backs all along A370 and the dual carriageway from airport roundabout to Morrisons will be gridlocked. Who thought this was a good idea? All the extra fuel being burnt making that longer route with static cars will not make up for the ‘bus route and cycle route’ over the Wolvershill Bridge!! This is not a green option! The new homes are not a green option. You are strangling our village. We are meant to be a rural village.

Please listen to the residents, no-one wants this bridge closed to cars.

Being forced to use the duel carriageway to get my grandaughter to school, take 20 minutes more than being able to go via Summer Lane, it costs more in petrol through distance and having to stop, start all the time and adds to pollution.
Shutting this bridge is crazy.

Closing Wolvershill Road Bridge is stupid, it will just create problems elsewhere.

The risk of Riverside becoming a "rat run" and undoing the purpose of the bypass is too great. Closing existing infrastructure for buses that don't exist and aren't used is illogical. During the latest Wolvershill closure I have seen my commute extended by 10-15minutes on the A370 alone, my normal route as a resident of Locking, this is probably due to all Wolvershill traffic having to come this way.

I am strongly against this closure, absolutely no need for it or any reasonable, in my opinion, reason for it. Keep the bridge access open to all traffic. Stop wasting money and spend it where needed. If your unsure where to best spend funds then I strongly suggest reopening a 24 hour A&E dept at Weston general hospital.

Planners need to take notice of the people who elected them: we put you there and we can also put you out to grass.

Traffic congestion is getting worse by the day. Too close this bridge is idiotic

Wolvershill needs to be kept open as it provides a quicker route into Worle thus reducing energy costs and impact on the environment.

This bridge is a vital route link and helps alleviate traffic building up along other routes that already suffer with heavy congestion at various times of day.

What is the rationale for this proposal: it serves no sensible purpose. The route is essential for normal traffic - not just buses and service vehicles. Please think again.

Moving to Mead Fields early 2025 and concerned if this route is closed it will add considerable commuting time to reach M5 to drive to Bristol for work

It’s a vital link to worle and railway station.
What a diabolical plan.
Vital connection between Banwell and worle
Please keep Road open
