This closure will have a major impact on the new created estate and the rest of Banwell/Worle. The road has been closed already and is causing major transport congestion to the WSM network.

This would be a complete travesty to the local community, the fact it’s already being considered probably means it’s already been signed off!
The closure of this route during October 2024 resulted in huge congestion in and out of wsm and delays to parents and workers. NSC are mad if they pass this

We want to be part of a community not cut off by others in banwell. This is so wrong!

Closure of this road would bring unbearable congestion along the dual carriageway morning and evening, creating pollution for Weston Village. Journey times for commuters would be ridiculous and could scare away potential business. Would isolate Banwell residents from deliveries from Weston.

You will just make the traffic worse on the 371

Crazy idea. Why build more housing and a bypass, then make it more difficult to get to?

This needs to stay open to prevent riverleaze becoming a rat run.

Going along A370 increases my journey time by 20 mins each way going to work (which is not possible on public transport) A370 is already congested once the new houses have been built will add to it. The emissions from the additional milage more than outways any benefit from shutting the road to vehicles.
What about access to local businesses especially Court Farm and the Banwell residents access to the M5 especially with the new houses already being built on wolvershill road

It’s vital that we are not cut off in the village and as we do our shopping at Morrisons & Sainsbury’s it’s a long way round

Keep the current road open, widen if necessary, to save the roads in and out of the town, getting busier than they already are!

If it’s destined to be permanent then I’m against it.
