Keep Wolvershill bridge open: A lifeline for our community!

Who ever thought of closing the bridge needs to sit down and think about the effect this will have on the environment

Congestion in Weston is bad enough without closing wolvershill bridge! This will make it much worse for everyone.

I live in Meadfields the new development just outside of Banwell. However, we are still classed as Banwell. As I work in Shipham/Cheddar. My regular route is through wolvershill Road. If it gets closed, not only will it make my journey longer but will also affect the amount of fuel in using. It would be a huge inconvenience for most people beyond Winscombe etc. My family also live in winscombe/Shipham and getting to the M5 for Bristol would mean going through parts of Weston that just seems unnecessary.

Closing the bridge would cause chaos on the dual carriage way as all the traffic would be funnelled down it. Terrible idea

This will make journeys to Worle or Bristol for us far longer and will divide the Banwell area.

Need to keep this bridge open, using longer and more congested routes goes agaist what is meant to be being achieved with carbon emissions.

As a resident on Riverside have seen the enormous increase in traffic using Riverside as a rat run to the point twice recently have been unable to access my house and have had to abandon my car ( and shopping) and walk home to return late at night to retrieve my car. The permanent closure of Wolvershill will cause utter chaos and having seen the work done there whilst closed and seems much more sensible to widen and improve this road so can have good vehicle access along with a cycle path and shared footpath.

This bridge needs to be kept open. The chaos that it’s brought to the rest of Weston since it’s been closed is atrocious.

River side road is physically collapsing as we speak and the size of vehicles and turn off church road into banwell make it unsustainable. There is no alternative so when by passing on this route is still required

Traffics bad enough as it is

The traffic in and out of Weston currently is already over strained. The dual carriage way and poorly managed junctions cause short journeys to be 4 x longer - that much was witnessed these past few weeks with wolvershill road being closed for roadworks. The businesses and local areas need that alternative route to remain open.

Do not close the bridge for traffic. We have the Allotments to access and it takes 20 mins longer to access banwell the long way round.The active travel scheme is a wef scam and not wanted by the people .

Totally not thought through, it will just create more congestion, pollution and inconvenience to people

What had happened to the link road through Locking Parklands?

It is taking me a hour round trip to do the morning school run (usually 15 mins) while wovershill road is closed. This is having a big impact on my families lives as the afternoon school run isn’t much better. So much more petrol and time in the car.

they are shutting silvermoor as well! imagine if the motorway bridge was shut, everything down riverside!!! Dumb.

This road is a vital link in providing timely access as well as providing multiple options thus reducing congestion
