Keep Wimbledon High Uniform supply with Village Sports

Investing in our local community should be a priority for the school and the criteria being used to decide whether to change suppliers should not be solely or even primarily an economic issue – there has always been a lively second hand uniform system in place and no doubt it could be made to function even more effectively if the economic argument is a major issue.

We are forced to go far to get school uniforms. It was so easy on way back home to get what was needed for next day at school.

Why fix something that isn’t broken? Village Sports is convenient and Paddy and Lizzie have always offered a great service. We don’t need any more Costas or Starbucks - we need to keep local businesses like Village Sports going. Well done Sue for setting up this poll.

Please reconsider moving away from Village Sports. It is convenient, the staff are extremely knowledgable and helpful. Support local business.

I appreciate the convenience of Village Sports location and even more the help and advice they provide. Changing to John Lewis would be loss for their business and for us parents.

I am dismayed by the GDST's decision. Village Sports has offered an excellent service for many years. On the majority of occasions I have used them, my daughter needed to be present, to be fitted, so the option of online/click and connect ordering would be irrelevant. It would be so much less convenient to have to travel to Kingston or Sloane Square. I feel strongly that local businesses, such as Village Sports, should be supported, especially in this case, where I can see no benefit in switching supplier.

Please reconsider this ill-advised decision, taken by the GDST without the parents of WhS, the girls, and our local community in mind.

Changing to a provider in Kingston is of NO benefit to parents that live in Wimbledon.

The staff at the Village Sport Shop and their knowledge of the uniform and the requirements that the school has got has just been amazing. I remember feeling very lost both at the reception stage as well as when my daughter was starting Year 3. They are always helpful and can leave an item waiting for you if you ring in advance. There is absolutely no chance that we will get the same service from a huge department store with a frequent turnover of staff – no one will have a clue if our daughters need blue or white socks and what style of swimming cap is required. To swap a supplier only because they don’t provide online service is really surprising since it looks like it was not the parents that have complained since no consultation took place!

Poor decision, and in most peoples view unnecessary! Keep business local, convenient and community based.

Village Sports is cosy and convenient for us. Why change it? It doesn't make sense.
