Keep West Best: Bring Valerie Townsend back to the Parkway West High classroom.

Schools are not corporations and students are not clients. Veteran teachers, especially those like Val, deserve better than this.

She's awesome

As a teacher and parent, I appreciate all that Ms. Townsend does to form lasting relationships with children she goes also above and beyond to educate with rich lessons day in and day out.

Let's save dismissals for those who truly deserve it.

Return Valerie Townsend to West High.

Mrs. Townsend was one of the best teachers I've ever had. She kept the seniors motivated even with their senioritis and she took the time to write recommendation letters and really listen to her students when they requested her help.

Amazing teacher and helped me through my senior year. Always had an open ear to listen.

I was a student of Mrs. Townsend and because of her I learned compassion towards others. The word "retarded" is not befitting. She taught me tolerance and kindness towards others, not just Lord of the Flies.

Valerie is a dedicated teacher who always puts her students first

One of the best teachers I had at West. After leaving west high I remembered how great of a teacher she was!

Without Mrs. Townsend I would not be the person I am today. With her absence, their are students missing out on life lessons.

We certainly agree with all of the comments in this petition. We know Valerie is dedicated to her profession and would never intentionally harm a student.

Mrs. Townsend has always been my favorite teacher. Many other students and Parkway West alumni will agree with me. She shaped me in many many ways. She made school worth going to every single day.

Probably the most memorable teacher I ever had at west. She enjoyed teaching and always made learning fun for everybody in her class.

Kudos to Val that she cares so much about the students and their education that she is willing to work at a school that isn't supporting her through this situation. After 15 years of going way above and beyond for the students she shouldn't be getting treated this way. Parkway would be lucky to have her stay. I would bet there are many schools that would love to scoop her up. Shame on the administration for throwing her under the bus.

Mrs Townsend is hands down one of my favorite teachers at west. Freshman year she was my first teacher of highschool, and she couldn't have been more welcoming. She is a great teacher and I've learned a lot from her. She loves her students, and loves teaching. I couldn't imagine west without her. From freshman to senior year she has been there for me. She even was present at my senior night of highschool soccer.
