Keep West Best: Bring Valerie Townsend back to the Parkway West High classroom.

I have known Mrs, Townsend for ten years. She is an exceptional teacher, a mentor. It's my request to please bring her back.

I recently just left parkway west high school and I've heard lots of good things about this teacher. And even though I'm not at this school anymore, I still want to support the Longhorns in whatever they do. Because I still am apart of the longhorn team.

The way things are blown out of proportion these days has gotten ridiculous. Look at her record and judge her on that instead of 1 comment made in jest. It's time to say enough is enough and support our teachers.

One of my all time favorite teachers at West. She made class fun and connected with the whole class. She's dedicated to her students and even takes her own time to send alumni letters they wrote to themselves as seniors 20 years later. Something incredibly unique that not a single other teacher at west does.

Mrs. Townsend was one of my favorite teachers during my career at Parkway West High School. She loved all of her students unconditionally and had an inexhaustible passion for helping her students learn. Parkway West will take a huge hit if she does not return!

Mrs.Townsend is a great teacher! I enjoyed her teaching so much and miss it.

Ms. Townsend is a treasure for West and should be reinstated immediately.

Bring Mrs.Townsend back to her classroom where she belongs! Everyday without her is detrimental to her students! She is an outstanding teacher who impacts lives!

I was shocked to hear Mrs. Townsend had been removed from her classroom as it was my experience as a parent that she was professional, caring and passionate about her job. I don't know of any student who can't benefit from a teacher who inspires and keeps them engaged in the learning process. My daughter certainly has a tremendous amount of respect and admiration for Mrs. Townsend, not to mention the fact that my daughter learned so many life lessons from someone she considers to be a mentor. It seems to me that these qualities are what Parkway West High would want their teachers to possess. All students deserve teachers like Mrs. Townsend, and Parkway West is lucky to have her, so please do not deny your students the privilege of learning from this valuable resource.

I had the pleasure of having Mrs. Townsend for English I and going on a group trip to Europe with her and Mr. Townsend. All throughout my time at West, I would take time to visit Mrs. T during down time and even after I graduated in 2010, I made a point to visit her several times. She was always genuinely interested in how I was doing and what was going on in my life. When I had problems, she was always willing to give advice. My cousin is now a freshman and had Mrs. T before this all began and he absolutely loves her too. I can't imagine a Parkway West without Mrs. Townsend so please don't let that happen.

Mrs. Townsend has done many things for Parkway West: fundraisers, retirement gifts, chaperoning the tennis team to matches (until the coaches can arrive on site), helping students see the world. This is not counting events that she has participated in behind the scenes. She takes great pride in helping students prepare for college with setting high expectations in the classroom. There are not enough teachers in the schools that expect nothing less than a students' best and for this she excels. She has helped many students understand To Kill A Mockingbird, Of Mice and Men, etc. She will passionately discuss the classics with current & former students of in and out of the Parkway School District. She has helped my daughters immensely with her advice on high school English and how to choose a college, Her many years of great service need to be taken into consideration. Parkway West needs her back in the classroom.

In the seven weeks that she was here, Mrs. Townsend was the teacher who taught me most about being a freshmen and how to get good grades in high school. She has taught me more than any other teacher I have ever had
