Let the children learn in comfort, it also encourages games and fitness as they have freedom of movement. Surely learning and fitness/health trumps how they look to the outside world.

Children should be as comfortable as possible in school. Kilmac kids should be allowed to war their tracksuits for comfort and warmth.

Please keep the uniform as it is. Changing from tracksuits etc is ridiculous. Comfort, affordability and warmth should be the priority for both the children and the parents of OUR school alike. Tracksuits work - and everyone is happy with them. The priority should not be the principal's misguided ideas about uniforms; does she realise she's not in South County Dublin anymore?

I want to keep the kilmacanogue National school tracksuit uniform as it is. The uniform is very comfortable & pratical for both boys & girls, there is no need to change it other than being strict with not allowing 'branded' tracksuit bottoms. It also needs to be noted the huge expense this will add to parents with already tight household budgets. Plus there hasn't been any consultation with me or many parents about this introduction.

I oppose the proposal to change the current uniform policy. There are a number of reasons for this; it will be more expensive for all parents if this is introduced. We have had many comments from parents and family on how beautiful the current uniform is. Why change it. Any additional fees paid as a result of this introduction will be deducted from the voluntary contribution to the school.

Primary school children should be comfortable and warm in their uniforms. Their needs, energy &; actvity levels are in complete contrast to secondary students. My daughter was very uncomfortable at a younger age in a pinafore playing in the yard with boys. Thankfully she was allowed wear tracksuit full time. Not to mention weather, expense- we would have to buy 6 pairs of shoes as opposed to 3. They are comfortable, warm and all similarly dressed. There are so many activities all the time. It means they are always ready for action!

Tracksuits have been a great easy to dress uniform for pupils at Kilmac since my eldest son first went 20 years ago and before him. For children with dyspraxia and co ordination issues, it gives them confidence to dress themselves properly in the morning as well as reliving Mum, frustration and perhaps raised voices. Children begin school relaxed and comfortable. Kilmac is a wonderful school and one which I've been proud to send all my 5 children. Wearing the tracksuit still gave them a sense of pride in their school. Kilmac is unique. Please don't change it.
