Titan Robotics is an award-winning STEM program at a high school that has a STEM academy. They give back to the community by creating a stem pipeline that benefits the entire city. The school should work with them to make sure they have an appropriate space.

Titan Robotics is the crown jewel of ACPS extracurriculars. Not only do the high school students demonstrate exceptional knowledge of complex STEM topics, they also donate their time and expertise to numerous community activities, including FREE summer programming for younger students. ACPS should be doing everything they can to support these students and using their program as a model for others.

My oldest son was on this team and is now a Robotics engineer with the Army Corps of Engineers. My daughter was on the team and is building a career in programming. This team is building the future. The best education my kids received at ACHS was on this team. Invest in 5587!

I’m a Titan Robotics Mentor and have seen the benefits firsthand from students who are involved in Titan Robotics. These smart and creative students are learning about engineering, design, problem solving and teamwork skills that are vital to solving complex challenges for our society. They need their school to provide them with a space that allows them to work on their FIRST robotics challenges. Please let them keep their space!

My son has participated in Titan Robotics for the past two years, and it has been such a great experience. Through their outreach efforts, younger kids are exposed to STEM, so the team benefits the larger Alexandria community, and not just the high school. The members work so hard in preparation for their competitions, and need an appropriate space.

This move risks destroying the entire program if it proves impossible to operate the machinery and test the industrial scale robots in the inferior classroom space - which would be a tragedy both for the current students who are working so hard on behalf of the program, and for budding space scientists like my kid who is already looking forward to joining the team in five years' time! Please reconsider your decision.

I am the parent of a Titan Robotics Alum and this is devastating news. Please give this group the space they need to keep providing the outreach and community building they are so well known for.
