People of Oklahoma and all fans of OKC Thunder, the Mayor of Oklahoma City, Mick Cornett, is planning on shutting down Thunder Alley because of the shooting that took place in Bricktown after the close-out win against the Lakers. Just to be clear, the shooting occurred no where close to the Arena, and is not directly linked to the game and Thuder Alley. This shooting happened after the game when people were walking through Bricktown back to their cars. This is one incident and now everyone who enjoys Thunder Alley has to suffer. All Mick Cornett preaches is OKC will be a "Big League City" and now that has happened, he cannot handle it. Society understands risks of being in a crowd of rowdy and passionate fans, and they embrace their freedom to be outside the Arena to support our Thunder. Not only is Cornett ruining a great thing that basketball fans, media, and the city enjoys, but he is taking away business from the downtown area if he removes this great event that has become a great event for OKC. Every single fan who has been to Thunder Alley never says one bad thing about Thunder Alley and will want to return for the next game. Don't let Mayor Cornett take away a great freedom of ours of support. Sign this petition and show Mayor Cornett we will NOT let a few miscreants ruin this for all of us! Thank You!
This makes zero sense. Why punish thousands of good fans for something that happened blocks away? Bricktown is a public place people are gonna walk around regardless. Keep it open.
