The WB decision makers are probably too focused on revenue... Typical spreadsheet myopia!!

It is a face of the World Bank for the public. It is an institution in itself. No doubt things can be improved if it is not making profits example: longer opening hours, book readings etc. But to close it down is short sighted.

Maybe have more events there. Close a meeting room instead.

Ironically - since it's a bookstore - reversing the decision to close the InfoShop is a no-brainer.

While amazon, the world's largest online bookstore is opening more bookstores in streets, the WBG is closing down our only one. The Info has played and will play definitely more role than displaying the WB knowledge products in hard copy.

The Infoshop is a landmark in Washington DC and probably one of the best method to present to the leaders of the world visiting what Bank does and to other many visitors in the capital city. The opportunity cost should be measured in terms of what the Bank would be losing as far as it human image is concerned and desire to share knowledge and educate.. and that outweigh by far some opportunity for office space. In fact, find them more space to have people sit in there. Once gone, it will be gone for good

The InfoShop is not just another bookstore! It is a true knowledge resource as well. It's a happy place too! To close down this BookStore is a rather shortsighted decision of the WBG Management! I do hope that the decision will be reconsidered.

it a great opportunity for us as a family to stop by spend some time and buy books in the physical store otherwise especially in DC it is difficult to find such a great book store .my daughter 7 years old and loves spending time looking at the books and then choosing one and taking to home .hope you can find a way to keep it open for our children

A great selection of books on a vast range of subjects; profitable apparently; and provides great service. Well located -- it has thousands of highly educated readers in a 400 metre radius of it.

Please keep the Info Shop open. I love going in there and finding an unusual title, as well as the many World Bank gifts for family and friends who just love taking a piece of the WB home with them.
