Excellent source of promotional materials (logo pens, books, etc) as well as latest relevant materials for work. This is the only publically accessible part of WBG and as such acts to promote and build awareness of our brand.

Absolutely need this bookshop open! Anytime I return to Washington, I have great pleasure browsing through and buying a stock of books to read while away in the field!

I have never been to the World Bank Store (Infoshop) but it's not wise or won't really be good to close a book shop. Might be useful for someone or other.

HQ Staff Loves the Bookstore: The curation of books on international relations, economics, and development is skillful in a way unmatched in the DC area. Where else can you go that even comes close?
Non-HQ Staff Loves the Bookstore: Delegates to the Annual and Spring meetings count on InfoShop to stock their libraries back home.
The Public Loves the Bookstore: InfoShop is the only place the public can interact with the Bank in person (aside from our awesome security guards). A great many people who have never heard of the World Bank discover it by walking into InfoShop.
Authors Love the Bookstore. InfoShop hosts book launches and author talks. They have the connections to authors and publishers to make these happen - they won’t come if they can’t sell books.
Authors Love the Bookstore 2: InfoShop is also a showcase for Bank and local authors, many of whom are self-published, whose work may otherwise end up in the dustbin of history. Perhaps you yourself hope to have a book sold there some day.
Books Bring Us Together: Book events are a key part of staff engagement and good opportunities for networking.
Great Stuff Besides Books: Bank staff, visitors and retirees can find nice gifts at reasonable prices.
Great Prices: Discounts received from publishers and distributors are often passed along to customers.

Please consider keeping the doors of InfoShop open. It is more than a bookstore. For so many people, inside and outside of WBG, it is an institution that represents knowledge sharing and openness. It is truly a gem. WBG is more than a lending agency. Its true value proposition is the decades of experience in development work that it can share with the larger community. The publications and books found in InfoShop speaks directly to WBG's special role in the international development community. Let's keep things that way.

Please keep Info shop open at same location. Its both a repository of knowledge, a good old fashioned way of disseminating World Bank work and allowing curious individuals visiting a part of the Bank without having to know someone in the building or pass through security. I am not sure the marginal contribution of using that space for an extra office space will be any where near the marginal contribution of keeping the info shop put, if one factors in the non-monetary contributions of the infoshop.

The Infoshop is an amazing resource for Bank publications and on development related publications, and is greatly valued by staff as well as visiting guests from governments and counterparts. It would be a real shame to lose this "face" of the World Bank. Please reconsider and keep it open.
