Keep the World Bank Bookstore (Infoshop) Open

I love our bookstore, pls. keep it open.

Excellent source of information and an opportunity to touch a hard book instead of an e-copy.

In a world where bookstores are becoming extinct we should keep and celebrate this truly iconic symbol - in the many titles it stocks, it has become a real symbol of the word "world" in our institution's title.

As a World Bank retiree, I value what the Info Shop offers to the Bank/Fund community, and to those who frequent this location, so close to the White House.

The InfoShop is a friendly bookstore of the kind that is rarer and rarer. Out of town visitors love to go in and browse and they have some gems that cannot easily be found elsewhere. KEEP the infoshop open. !

Please keep the Bookstore opened. It is a quintessential part of DC and the World Bank. Why would the World bank stop selling books? As an institution, we would be sending the wrong signal that reading, culture, and the voyage of the mind no longer matter. We are better than that!

I second all that has been written about the InfoShop. It is the Knowledge hub (unlike the Bank website where it is difficult to find all publications/knowledge material), it displays Bank's publications like no other single place does. It is a go to place for staff and visitors and it would be a shame to lose it in a time where we are striving to tap into and disseminate the Bank's tremendous Knowledge.

Please keep the bookstore open. I am a frequent customer.

I use the info shop regularly to bring books to workshops in our client countries. The last session for which I ordered books was a project launching workshop for a new energy project in Afghanistan. The infoshop folks went out of their way to order the project. management books that we wanted to acquaint our client with. It would be a pity to loose this resource.

The Infoshop is an excellent avenue for showcasing and distributing the Bank's publications. It also stocks a diverse collection of recent publications and is one of the last remaining literary oases in Washington - a valuable asset for the community.

Keep the shop open!!

Don't close what is unquestionably the finest book store anywhere specializing in political-economics and global development!

Are our leaders serious? This is just a joke, I'm pretty sure. The Info Shop is indeed a landmark, a face of our International Institution presented to the regular citizen of this city and to visitors alike. After all, the managerial “opportunity cost” reform in many cadres has been - and continuous being - a resounding failure. Our dear Jim Kim's and close advisors and managerial peers' decisions have proved erroneous - at the minimum. Now, the US$400 million Savings - as 'opportunity costs' are "explained" in a different way from which they originally appeared. Oops! Are indeed all the Member Country Representatives aware and supporting this new move? Are they aware that The World Bank Group Operations, including building operations, are practically covered by the Bank participating in all the Stock Exchanges over the world 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Are our dear high level management - and perhaps some surrogates - presenting the picture that leaving alone Info Shop represents missing "opportunity cost"? Please, let's invite Jim and other top managers to think over this - one more - brilliant idea of theirs. Best Regards to All.

I'm new to the bank, so I'm sure there's an economic rationalization behind this decision. That being said, I visited the area recently and thought it was going to be a very handy resource down the line.
