This is not a good decision. The public face of the WB in DC is closing down! You may cut the budget for the various information publications of the WB but not this! So many delegations and students are coming in to find the right book on development. This is a big mistake!

The space could be used as a walk-in info place, with spaces to look up info, get connected to programs or staff, careers, and as a tool for better engaging clients, civil society and development partners. It would be a very visible contribution to our commitment for transparency and openness.

Amidst all the advantages of reading with the mouse, the bookstore also serves like a World Bank souvenir store. It should be redesigned as such.

Please keep this open in some form - is so wonderful to have a bricks and mortar bookstore in the vicinity. The online stores are just not the same and don't promote browsing or the art of reading in the same way as a physical apace.

The info shop is not only a great space for the public, but Bank staff as well. In my 30 years on this earth, and my 26 years in Washington, it has been a staple part of the World Bank Group and my experience in DC while going through school. It is a landmark.. does it need revamping? Yes, of course, but not shut down. There are a lot of cool things that could be done to it: it can become an interactive space.
