Over the last 15 years, the Bookstore has been allowed to be run down by the Bank and as a result this decision to close is not a surprise - the Bank should reposition and update the Bookstore's purpose as a marketing and communications vehicle for the Bank's strategy and commitment to development. A suggestion- give it to the 1818 Society to run for a trial period and see if it can re-purposed and made self sustaining.

I think the WB still can afford to keep the landmark book store in the age of digital products.

Please do not close the bookstore! Informing and educating are essential to development, and the bookstore has been an important vehicle in sharing the Bank's research and project experience. Closing it would be a real loss to those of us truly concerned about improving the lives of the poor.

The World Bank Bookstore is one of the greatest contributions to the people of the Washington, D.C., metro area and across the world. This shop is not only a landmark in the DC area but has been providing valuable and reliable data to students, academia, technocrats, politicians and the likes.
Please keep the bookstore open.
Thank you.

It advertises the work of World Bank. Many books have been bought at the info shop or having seen a title of interest has been bought online.

There are other options to closing the store outight. Please keep up the dissemination of sound development information - mostly not available elsewhere.

I've found many books here that I've taken with me on trips. Redesign the store if need be, but keep the store open!

For retirees, this is the one place to see the latest in the Bank's work! I can't believe that the Bank is joining the rush to end the world of bookstores.

It would be a great mistake if this happens. The InfoShop is one of the most important dissemination platforms of the World Bank as a Knowkedge and Investment bank-- a critical link between the Bank and academia, researchers, media, and the larger knowledge seeking community. What a bad idea!

I note that during the Annual Meetings many delegates spend considerable time in the Bookstore - several commented to me how useful it is.

I count on my visits to the World Bank bookstore to learn of interesting new economics books by the World Bank and independent authors, and I buy several such books each year.

The WB bookstore is a place like no other. It gathers in one place all of the economic, financial, social and cultural resources that one might need to keep oneself informed about international development. The added value of curating these resources is immeasurable. There are creative ways of supporting this bookshop which should be explored. Closing it would be short- sighted and very foolish!

I love the World Bank Bookstore (Infoshop) and I want World Bank management to reconsider its decision to close the store. World Bank ,management, please keep book store open.
