The bookstore is an invaluable source of information for staff and families and it also carries an interesting collection of books written by authors from all over the world, that would otherwise not be easily discovered and appreciated. It is also the "advertising window" of the World Bank - many people stop by and have a chance to discover "what the WB does" in an informal setting. The bottom line in terms of $$ is not or should not be the most important element.

I always visit the book store whenever I come to the Bank to meet with old friends or attend a presentation, or something. I usually end up walking out of the store with something interesting. The store always is well-attended when I'm there. So, I really don't understand the decision to close it - a decision which strikes me as boneheaded.

This is one of the more open and welcoming faces of the World Bank, very well located, apparently making a profit. It would be interesting to see analysis leading to decision. I hope it will be reconsidered

This is an arbitrary decision from Bank Management. Not only it has been a landmark for the WB but it´s visited from people all over the world who come to Washington, DC. on business or looking for valuable information about the WB. Please do reconsider.

As a World Bank retiree, I find the proposed closure of the Bank's Bookstore alarming. For years it has served as a large community in terms of disseminating the Bank's work as well as providing information on topics of interest to those of a broader community. What a loss for the Bank, its work, and those interested in related matters!! Please reconsider.

For so many years the WB Bookstore has been a formidable source of publications available to the general public, and an excellent demonstration of the Banlk's formidable work. Closing the bookstore is a very bad idea.
