The infoshop is a wonderful place to buy books and develop oneself! A true shame if it were to disappear.

One of the complaints about the World Bank is that people don't know what it does. The Info Shop is an outwardly visible demonstration of what the World Bank does and how important that work is. I assume it is being closed because of cost cutting. I think that the outreach that it provides and physical contact that it can give people is worth far more than what it might cost.

The InfoShop Bookstore has been the public's physical, non-barrier access to the World Bank. That helped the World Bank not appear unreachable and distant. It is an excellent PR tool that should be viewed in that light.

When I was Secretary of Budget and Management, every year that I attended the spring and fall meetings, I never missed a chance to stop by the WB Bookstore.

The World Bank Infoshop should be celebrated and actually expanded. Alternatively, the Bank could consider teaming up with the IMF and other international organizations located in DC (and perhaps even including NGOs and think tanks like Brookings) to provide a PolicyShop showcasing the multiple organizations' publications.

I vote to keep the Bookstore. My son when still studying benefited from its global publications. I browsed on my break time there, have bought quite a few from that shelf outside in photo.

I love the World Bank Bookstore (Infoshop) and I want World Bank management to reconsider its decision to close the store. World Bank management, please keep the World Bank bookstore open (at its current or other location if necessary).

The employees and patrons of this store share a strong belief in the spreading the important information collected by the World Bank, and we would all be devastated to see the World Bank try to save a little money by closing the public's window into a bank of knowledge that has been many decades and billions of dollars in the making.

Every times I come to DC I go to WB the bookstore and generally find what I am looking for... I would feel terrible if it was not there next time I come!

The Infoshop is unique and a great product for the Knowledge Bank the WBG claims to be. Reasons to keep it open are beyond finance. It is one of the most effective tools for development practitioners and for knowledge sharing , image and reputation of the WBG. It is also a amazing landmark to the WBG and the Development Economics arena. Keeping it open will be a great gain and is rational!
