I have always enjoyed and benefited from having such a resource so close at hand. I can't count how many times I've visited during the work day for a specific book, supplies, or other necessity. The Info Shop is a wonderful resource and service to the downtown DC community, including White House, USTR, and other Federal government employees, passers by, and the World Bank itself. Please keep it open.

For over a decade before I joined the World Bank, Infoshop had always been a great source of information and knowledge in the area of development, public finance and related contemporary economic policy issues whenever my delegation from Nigeria visited Washington DC, USA for Spring /Annual Meetings and/or other project related visits. Since I joined the Bank in 2011, this tradition continued for me and I really find Infoshop to be an invaluable resource for great knowledge in the area of development. I cannot spend two weeks without popping into Infoshop to see what's new and grab a book. I would really plead that we do our utmost to keep the Infoshop open.

As a World Bank staff and a reader of all things, this is a great book shop for both non-fiction and fiction and one of the few left in the city. Please keep it open!

the bookstore has been my first contact with the world Bank's work and having been very skeptical with the Bank's work at that point, I actually discovered that there is more about the World Bank than the rumors and misinformation populated by NGOs. the bookstore is an institution and a essential instrument for our messages and mission. If we have to reform it, yes, but just closing it because of cost reasons....not sure if this is the right way.

As a Bank spouse living in the suburbs, The Infoshop is one reason I even visit downtown DC; not to mention the fact that its selection of books helps keep me 'mens sana'. Alas, sane seems to be the last word to describe the powers-that-be's decision to shutter the bookshop. Shame!

The bookstore is an important and well established channel of information between the World Bank and the public. Claiming to be a "knowledge bank" closing the bookstore is definitely not the right decision.

The Bookstore has been a disseminator of Bank-related work and information on a variety of issues worldwide ever since it opened. It's been an invaluable resource center for students, researchers and the general public in order to have an understanding of development work on a global scale. I am sure the Bookstore would be missed by many, and I hope management will reconsider closing.

As a retired 35 year veteran staff member of the World Bank, I know how highly our developing country clients, US and international students, and our staff have appreciated the availability of operational development research publications through the InfoShop. This is a very high value-added, high reputation marketing tool that it would be foolhardy to abolish. I strongly support maintaining the World Bank's publication program at the high level that it is currently functioning -- including the Info Shop which is precious to the World Bank's reputation as an effective development institution on which its operations are based on evidence and our rich internal and external development research.
