The developers backed down and the White Horse is no longer slated to become flats. My hands are still shaking from the long struggle to save this place but we finally secured the outcome we needed. I will be watching closely to ensure they actually restore the building instead of …

The White Horse looks doomed to go the way of many others in The local area and is currently closed.

This is a historically important pub and is well known in all the pub guides as it is the only pub with its own dedicated set of traffic lights!

Local residents would hate to see this once beautiful building turned into flats.

It has been run into the ground deliberately by the brewery and we think this beautiful old building deserves a second chance!

One hundred people have signed on to save the White Horse and the weight of that number is finally starting to sink in. It has been a draining road so far but seeing this level of interest keeps me pushing forward despite the obstacles.

Come on fight this. We have lost the Coopers Chads and the Hinds head. If we loose the White Horse that will be four out of six pubs in the immediate area closed within 5 years. Yes 66%.

The local council should step in - Barking and Dagenham even have a planning document about the incredible decline in local pubs and have helped stop that with the Pipe Major in E Dagenham. As long as the site doesn't get planning permission for residential, there's a chance of re-opening as a pub.

This was my late Dads local for years. There is even a plaque on the wall by "his" stool. I used to run around the beautiful gardens as a child and have many happy memories from then as well as my teenage years with my own friends . Please save this historic building.

I am a resident in Chadwell Heath & The White Horse is a huge part of our social history. Sadly! The last miserable Landlady destroyed the pub not the customers that have been served for most of their lives. Please do not do anything stupid with this fabulous building & garden. "Here's hoping!"

Bought my first pint here in the 60's. If not too late, perhaps application can be made to the council to have it listed as Asset of Community Value...that will afford it some protection.

This establishment should be listed and restored to its former glory and give Chadwell Heath back the community/village feel. The High Road is being turned into an ugly development of high rise flat littered with take aways and no parking!

A very important pub historically and a community asset and should be saved for future generations as well as all the locals that drink there
