I didn't go to school there but think it would be a shame to paint over something as unique as this and as far as it being outdated as C Fleet says...it isn't as old as the Michelangelo painting on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. Is that outdated too!!

my picture was painted on the wall in grade 6 of me doing jymnastics @ Queen Elizabeth Elementry School!! Ana I wouldn't mind getting a picture of it sent to me

These are murals that people did and now your painting them over that's the on,y thing that makes the school pop out ,don't paint them over its history of that school

I was one of the students of Mount Stewart elementary school. Painting the mural is one of the best memories I have from that school. If it is painted over, it's erasing the history of that school.

Dont erase this special part of history. VIdeo games and tablets are a distraction. These murals are a lovely little slice of generations of students to pass through these doors. This would be so sad for a tiny town to lose one of the few bits of connection it has. Its a tour of pop culture of generations. I hope people are able to get into the school and photograph these murals. I always remember them as being a major rite of passage!

I had seen a comment that they were distracting to students. Correct me if I'm wrong but none of these murals are in the classrooms. If they are, could they be moved to another location in the school. Please do not change or paint over something that can never be duplicated or returned.

The paintings are like a look back in time. Please don't paint over them, just turn the tiles over and paint that side :)

The murals have been a part of our school for many years. As a former student it was exciting when it was my and my classmates turn to paint our murals. I hope the powers that be change their minds about painting over OUR murals.

I was not born in P.E.I but I think of Mt.Stewart with such fondness...home!!! I have had the chance to come home and visit a number of times over these many years. On a couple of my visits I have had the pleasure of a tour down memory lane while guided through the school. Every corner we turn is another memory and the one I charish the most is looking at the murals!!! What a shame it would be to cover up ART. Art is in the eyes of the beholder and along with many others I sure do BEHOLD those memories.

These murals are an important part of our three girl's early education at Mount Stewart Consolidated. I would hate to think they are no longer important to this newer generation. So sad.
