Playing rugby was one of the reasons i wanted to come to uni! Letting this happen would be a shame
Grassroots ladies teams are essential to the continued growth of ladies rugby. UoB should be proud to support and be part of this.
Would be a sad time to not give females the opportunity to carry on a sport they have grown into aswell as give those that are less fortunate of not being given the opportunity throughout their childhood to try a team sport.
Women's rugby struggles to get the support it well deserves enough as it is. Through the support of Universities women's rugby is becoming stronger and supported more across the board however by your University removing support for your Women's rugby team is counter active to the sport and will impact the sport in the local area let alone the direct players/ potential players for the University. Women's rugby is growing in numbers yet the support still isn't there and you are providing that by removing the support for this team
This is a ridiculous idea not to keep them in the league after the hard work that these women over the last 4 years.
RUGBY IS NOT A GENDERISED SPORT! HOW DARE YOU CUT THE TEAM BASED ON A GENDER. DISGRACEFUL!

If this was the men’s there wouldn’t be any need for a petition because it would automatically be kept so why can’t the same be done for women! Equality is needed!
