I saw Cedric Turners Breibart interview and was moved to sign this petition. This is the type of change that is needed. Like he said , we need to be angry but constuctively angry not destructively angry. We need our history to learn from and know our legacy so history thru education and awareness brings wisdom not to repeat mistakes. Thank you for your fight for justice thru peaceful activism. No one's history should be torn down, ESPECIALLY this history. Everyone's children and grandchildren should be able to see and learn from these works of art.

Never acquiesce to the mob. You will inevitably regret it. Our culture, our history, as Americans is as tart and traumatic as it is sweet and beautiful. One thing about that though, we need all of it as a standing reminder of where we been, so we can plan out where we’re going with less trauma

History is not kind, people suffered and caused suffering but we can't delete it or our descendents will be condemned to relive the same suffering.

Please keep this statue up. Stop erasing Black History from our Nation. This was funded by Freed Black Americans. Tax Payer money would be best spent on education campaigns to showcase EVERY Black Monument/Statue and WHY it is there. Their individual histories may have been erased by the bonds they were sold to, but we can make the decision to commemorate them, that they mattered, as individuals--they are not forgotten.
