Although I am not a constituent of the 14th district I am alarmed at how this decision was reached. It seems there should have been a public notice that included this as a scheduled agenda item and that a vote would be taken and a decision made at this meeting. Notice of a meeting that does not include a full disclosure of subject matter. is purposefully dishonest and intentionally excludes individuals from their right to speak and vote. Are the Atomic Fireworks and the Elimination of them included anywhere on the notice of this meeting? When the subject matter was brought up it should have been heard of course but then held over for another meeting so proper notice could have been given that there were complaints and a request to eliminate. Then people wonder why no one trusts the system. This is a perfect example of the deceit and abuse within our system. My family has been attending the Frolics for over 25 years. We missed it when it was interrupted and couldn't have been more pleased when it returned. It became an annual family tradition that continues today with our now adult children. We plan for it every year and request vacation time around it. We have over the years invited many friends and family from out of town and out of state who continue to join us each year. There are no fireworks like these anywhere around here. We have many friends who had never heard of this event, who live right here in Milwaukee and surrounding suburbs, and they were absolutely in awe of the display. Many had never stepped foot in Bay View or South Shore Park and are pleasantly surprised with the area.. The ground works are amazing! Everyone we invited agreed it was and the Atomic Blow up the Beach are the icing on the cake! It lasts less than 30 seconds but it's the reason people come once and keep coming every year! The rest of the fireworks while grand indeed are no different than the Festa or US Bank display. I live close enough that those fireworks wake me up and my windows

I'd like the fireworks to stay as is however, if needed, I'd opt to have them just Friday and Saturday nights.

I've been a Bayveiw resident most of my adult life and look forward to the frolics every year to catch up with old friend! And the fire works are great! I don't believe that crap about the fire works knocking houses off their foundations, people live by Milwaukee forge and you don't hear them complain! Suck it up its only 3 days your life is changed a little! Most of the neibours like the frolics!

As someone who's family does not just enjoy; the blowing up of beach, we love it! I hope this petition is successful and allows the frolics to continue on a traditional people come from all over to see. We will not be attending the frolics until they decide to blow the beach up.

This is something I've watched and waited for since I was a child. It's something the neighborhood children wait for every year.

I find it very sad that people are so quick to dismiss a long standing tradition over 2 nights of noise that lasts maybe 5 - 10 mins. The normal fireworks maybe account for 30 - 40 minutes and those are still okay but get rid of a staple that so many of us grew up with and have such fond memories of to alleviate an inconvenience of 20 mins in 2 nghts to home owners who probably have lived there less than 5yrs. What is even worse is someone obviously had an agenda to get blind side with the topic so no word could get out ahead to support it. If this stands you just took yet another long standing tradition from generations to pass on & share with their kids to appease most likely the more affluent neighbors who probably are large contributors to that alderman.
