Keep the South Shore Frolics Fireworks As Is- including Grand Finale

Although I am not a constituent of the 14th district I am alarmed at how this decision was reached. It seems there should have been a public notice that included this as a scheduled agenda item and that a vote would be taken and a decision made at this meeting. Notice of a meeting that does not include a full disclosure of subject matter. is purposefully dishonest and intentionally excludes individuals from their right to speak and vote. Are the Atomic Fireworks and the Elimination of them included anywhere on the notice of this meeting? When the subject matter was brought up it should have been heard of course but then held over for another meeting so proper notice could have been given that there were complaints and a request to eliminate. Then people wonder why no one trusts the system. This is a perfect example of the deceit and abuse within our system. My family has been attending the Frolics for over 25 years. We missed it when it was interrupted and couldn't have been more pleased when it returned. It became an annual family tradition that continues today with our now adult children. We plan for it every year and request vacation time around it. We have over the years invited many friends and family from out of town and out of state who continue to join us each year. There are no fireworks like these anywhere around here. We have many friends who had never heard of this event, who live right here in Milwaukee and surrounding suburbs, and they were absolutely in awe of the display. Many had never stepped foot in Bay View or South Shore Park and are pleasantly surprised with the area.. The ground works are amazing! Everyone we invited agreed it was and the Atomic Blow up the Beach are the icing on the cake! It lasts less than 30 seconds but it's the reason people come once and keep coming every year! The rest of the fireworks while grand indeed are no different than the Festa or US Bank display. I live close enough that those fireworks wake me up and my wind

There continues to be an unfair advantage given to the small but vocal minority lucky enough to live close to a beautiful park that is quiet 362 days a year. The finale lasts 10 minutes, two times and the District, as well as the city, loves it. It's a great tradition...let it continue.

This is tradition. There's gotta be a different solution then doing away with this altogether.

I've been coming here my whole life and to take away the Big Bang is to take away the South Shore Water frolics it'll never be the same. To be honest I might not even come this year because I don't have anything to look forward to I See Fire works all the time but not these kind these are the best.

This is a tradition. Please keep it going. So many other things have been cancelled because it bothers a few people! It seems that there are more people outraged by this cancellation than there were people complaining about it!

The special fire works with the beach finale is only 3 days a year come on it's been going on how many years ?? Why ruin something everyone looks forward to in Milwaukee I've never missed them. But if they take away the best part I'm afraid many people and myself may not go. You can see fireworks anywhere in the summer. All the festivals Ect but South shore frolics is hands down the best !! Leave as is please !!
