Once this happens, you can’t undo it. Keep Nevada as wild as possible. This is not the future we should be pursuing.

The Ruby Mountains are a gem in this area. There is no need to develop it into a resort or anything else.

Since the animals do not have a voice I am signing this to protect the land and hope others do the same.

The Ruby Mountains have exceptional wilderness qualities. A ski resort would degrade the area, not enhance it.

Please keep this majestic place as is. We’re losing our wilderness at a terrifying rate. Not the Rubies too.

I think this will be a terrible idea for the environment, Elko and the future of our wonderful town.

This is one of the most spectacular natural areas in Nevada, and in the west, in general. Mountains should require a level of effort to access and left undeveloped. The area already requires a heavy amount of water to also support the agriculoarea surrounding it. Leave the Rubies as is.

The Ruby Mountains and the viewshed that one can see for miles - not just from Spring Creek but from distance highways - should be protected from developments like a ski resort. Leave the mountainside for the deer, the mountain goats, the wild and domestic sheep, the cows, the birds, the butterflies. Developments such as this cannot be reversed. As a rangeland ecologist I stand against irresponsible misuse of our ecosystems, including this ski resort.

I strongly oppose the proposed ski resort development in the Ruby Mountains. This area is one of Nevada’s last truly wild and untouched landscapes, and once it’s altered at this scale, there’s no getting it back.
The impact goes far beyond a single project. Increased light pollution alone would permanently change the character of the night sky. People come here seeking quiet, natural beauty. Beyond that, development of this size inevitably brings road expansion, increased traffic, noise, and long-term environmental strain.
More importantly, this project threatens critical wildlife habitat. The Ruby Mountains support a delicate ecosystem. These aren’t temporary impacts…they’re lasting.

Keep the Ruby Mountains beautiful. There's hardly an inch of this country that hasn't been spoiled by development in some way and this threatens to take away one of the last few.
